Overview

Sky Lake Lodge is 6-year-old Shambhala Dharma Center on a beautiful 18 acre tract of the Shawangunk Ridge in the NY Hudson Valley, located 2 hours north of Manhattan. The lodge accommodates 18-20 overnight guests.
It is an ideal setting for weekend and week-long programs. Sky Lake is also the home to an ever-growing local Shambhala community of over 120 members.

Operations Lodge Manager

Sky Lake has an immediate opening for a sharp, energetic Operations Lodge Manager. This is a full-time live-in position.

Duties will include day to day overseeing of the lodge including:

* Supervision of and coordinating schedules of household kitchen and
housecleaning staff
* Ordering of supplies and maintaining inventory and purchasing records
* Attending to and maintaining the physical plant of the building
and grounds

Administrative duties will include:

* Routine financials (in conjunction with the bookkeeper,).
* Oversee group rentals at the Lodge, including negotiating
contracts and attending to special needs if necessary.
* Handling phone and email inquiries.

People and communication skills are a must as you are the point person for the community and represent the vision of Shambhala to all callers and guests. Personal computer skills with Word, Excel and email communications are critical.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary is negotiable, depending on experience and qualifications.
Benefits include health insurance, room and board. The housing is a two room suite in the lodge. The position is offered initially as a six month commitment, with longer duration possible.
