Pema Chodron and Visiting Lineage Teachers

Pema Chodron… A Video Retreat

Sky Lake has been fortunate to study with the renowned Buddhist teacher Pema Chodron via a video retreat from Berkeley, California. Pema has been leading a study of the "The Way of the Bodhisattva", a seminal text by Shantideva, the 7th century scholar and meditation master. The final installment of this study will include Pema, along with Judith Simmer-Brown, head of Naropa Institute's Buddhist Studies Program. They will both lead us in the examination of Wisdom & Emptiness, the 9th chapter of "The Way of the Bodhisattva". Please watch for the upcoming dates of this exciting class. All are invited; you need not have attended the previous classes.

Visiting Teachers

Sky Lake has been privileged to host a number of remarkable teachers in the first few years of our operation. Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche is the head of the Shambhala Buddhist lineage, a spiritual and family lineage that descends through his family, the Mukpo clan. This tradition emphasizes the basic goodness of all beings and teaches the art of courageous warriorship based on wisdom and compassion. He is the dharma heir of his father, Vidyadhara the Venerable Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, who was instrumental in bringing Buddhism and Shambhala to the West.
